Western New York FCU is always looking for ways to give back to the community. We participate in sev eral charitable activities each year and are always looking for ways to donate our services and help those in need. Some of are most recent activities include:

 

Scholarship Fund- Each year WNYFCU and the Buffalo Chapter of Credit Unions award a scholarship to local high school senior. This years winner of a $500 college scholarship was Angela Lewis.

Hunter's Hope Foundation- Credit Union Volunteers with Jim kelly is from the Every Step Walk for Universal Screening for the Hunter's Hope Foundation held on Sept. 12th 2009 at Beaver Island State Park.

Warm the Children - During the winter we fund raise for Warm the Children by selling candy bars and donating the proceeds from the sale of Entertainment Books.

American Cancer Society's "Relay For Life" - For the past 6 years, the Western New York FCU has participated in the American Cancer Society's "Relay For Life" in West Seneca.  In 2009, our Credit Union raised over $8,427.00 by holding raffles for theme baskets, baked goods sales, checking account promotion, and holding a challenge for the staff to win a day off.  We also sold pizza and beverages at the Relay. This year we are trying to surpass that amount.

Kathleen Mary House  - This year  will  be our 4th year that we adopted the Kathleen Mary House for the Holidays, which is a home ran by volunteers for women and children who are victims of domestic violence.  We raffled off baskets, sold candy bars, and had the women and children make up wish lists and posted them in our lobby. With the help of our Community, Members and  the credit union staff we fulfilled all their wishes and needs at the holidays.
